About the Glass and Handmade Jewelry Artist

I received my Bachelors in Fine Arts in Graphic Design from the Pacific Northwest College of Art in Portland, Oregon. Although I have continued to design in the field of advertising, I have also moved onto other artistic ventures, including glass art and jewelry design.

It all began when I moved to the Caribbean Islands with my husband and I began an apprenticeship with JoBean Chambers, glass artist and handmade jewelry designer. I learned to not only design and handcraft my own jewelry, but also to handmake each glass bead using lampwork techniques. My interests peaked in flameworking and handmade jewelry design, and on my return to the States, I have continued to explore the art of flameworking and jewelry design. I've been showcasing my original handcrafted glass beads and handmade jewelry designs for brides and bridal parties, local shops and private jewelry home parties, and for private custom jewelry orders for my clients.

About the Handmade Jewelry and Lampwork Glass Beads

All the glass beads are wound on a mandrel using either Moretti (Effetre) or Bullseye glass. They are individually flameworked (torch-blown) and properly kiln-annealed overnight. After each bead is created, I use the handmade glass beads in my unique handmade jewelry designs in addition to Swarovski Crystals, pearl, sterling silver, gold fill and other semiprecious stones for added interest. All the handmade jewelry is constructed of either sterling silver or gold fill wire.
